Hunter Series

Now that The Demon Hunter is out (book 2 in the Hunter Series) you might be wondering if there will be a book 3. The answer? Well, as Justin Bieber says, never say never.

But... if I had to answer at this point I'd have to say .... No. The end. Done with the series. Why, you might be wondering? Well, for one I have other books I'd like to write.

But mostly it's because I have looked at how book 1 was received. Although I've had quite a few sales for The Ghost Hunter (book 1) and quite a few positive reviews, I've read far too many reviews that said "This is the worst book ever!" Frankly, I don't want to spend my time continuing a series that a lot of people seem to dislike. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to base my writing on what reviews say, and I'm certainly not telling you to stop writing reviews. What I am saying is as an author when you get more than a few 1-2 star reviews for a book, it's time to take a step back and pack your bags, show's over.

As I've stated before, reviews do matter, not only to the reader but to the author. As much as authors pretend not to, we do read reviews and take them seriously. I've learned a lot from the reviews of The Ghost Hunter; about what readers like and dislike. It's certainly been a learning experience for me.

So at this point, The Demon Hunter will be the last book in the Hunter Series.... in case you were wondering :)

  1. And I thought The Ghost Hunter was great! I liked it a lot. But if readers like your other books better, go for it! You have lots of choices on what to do with your books. I'll be interested to see what you'll do now.

  2. I second that Edie! The Ghost Hunter was one of the first books I purchased on my Kindle and I loved it.

  3. Thanks so much guys! I really appreciate it. You know how it is, being writers, sometimes you gotta look things over and decide to cut the ties. I do have another contemporary paranormal that I'm really eager to get done and up. So always something going on!

  4. I also loved the Ghost Hunter and came to this site looking for the Demon Hunter. Loved the story, the concept and the characters. Looking forward to reading some of your other works.

  5. Ghost Hunter was the first book I had read of yours and I couldn't get enough!!! I was SO excited that there was a second book with Devon as the main character. I have to say though, I liked the second book (Demon Hunter) even more than the first! I didn't think that would be possible! It was amazing and I'm ready to re read it! Even I though I just finished it a few hours ago! I loved how strong and independent Ellie was. She was totally the kick arse and show the man a thing or two about fighting heroin! I also just loved Devon from the first book and was dying to read more about him and know his whole story so it was a great surprise to read he had returned! I am so disappointed that I had read the books so quickly! It's a shame people didn't seem to enjoy the series as much as I had because i would've loved to read more in the series!

Best of luck to you and your writing,

    Lindsey

I really enjoyed both The Ghost Hunter and The Demon Hunter! Actually, the reason I stumbled across these postings is because I was trying to find a third book in the series, as soon as I finished the second. I can understand the feeling of not wanting to write more in a series that was not received well, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. (just teasing!) However, because I loved those books means I am looking forward to reading more of your work! Thanks for sharing those with us!
